Yesterday I ordered some new skincare products from Boots and was able to pick them up today! I ‘ve previously spoken about my skincare routine here and mentioned that I also pick up the La Roche – Posay Effaclar Anti-Blemish System here. Whilst I really do like both of these ranges, they are both drying, and so I felt like I needed to mix it up a bit. However, I will still be using the Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash from the body shop twice a day. I kind of created my own skincare routine by looking for key ingredients that I wanted to incorporate.
Key Ingredient: Vitamin C
Vitamin C is said to boost collagen production, reduce inflammation and fade post-breakout marks. I’m hoping that this product will work well on my scars, and just give my face an all over natural glow. I’ve never used a skin serum before, so I’m interested to see whether I like it or not. I plan on using this after I’ve washed my face in the morning, before moisturising.
* Full Morning Routine: Tea Tree Wash, Super Facialist Vitamin C Serum, Nivea Express Hydration Moisturiser
Key Ingredient: Roses
I needed a new toner for my skincare routine, and was able to incorporate rosewater into it. Roses are anti bacterial and anti inflammatory which makes it perfect to include in a skin care routine. Some toners can leave your skin feeling dry and tight but, the rose in this product keeps the skin soft whilst also tightening pores.
Key Ingredient: Lactic Acid (milk)
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this through other Youtubers and bloggers, so I decided to give it a go myself. It’s designed to prevent dullness and dark spots. Lactic acid is said to hydrate, and help promote cell turnover. I have high expectations for this product!
* Full Evening Routine: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, Tea Tree Wash, Rosewater Toning Spritz, Indeed Pepta Bright, Moisturiser
Key Ingredient: Charcoal
This is the first time I’ll ever be incorporating a face mask into my skincare routine. Putting Charcoal on your face may seem like a strange concept to a lot of people, but it actually benefits the skin in a lot of ways. The main one being the absoprtion power it has by drawing dirt and oils from the pores. This product listed having 2 other key ingredients: Dragonfruit and cinnamon. I’ll be using this twice a week. Dragonfruit contains vitamin c which helps with radiance, and cinnamon acts as an antiseptic.
