5 Products I won’t be repurchasing

I hate to be a Negative Nelly but I was thinking about doing a favourites post, but I thought it was just as important to share with you the products I haven’t been loving.

As you can see, I haven’t had much luck with concealers, all of these I tried based on recommendation but I guess you can say I’m still on the look out for my perfect concealer.

The first one is the Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette which I picked up in both light and medium. I had read a lot about this product before buying it and had seen that a lot of people had likened it to the mac concealer palette. Unfortunately I was really disappointed by this product. The concealers were really thick and creamy, which for someone who likes full coverage sounds perfect, but it creased so much. I always set my concealer because I suffer from really oily skin, but nothing seemed to keep it in place. It just looked so cakey and I honestly was so unimpressed.

The second set of concealers I have purchased were the LA Girl Pro Concealers in yellow brighter, medium and toast .i.e. a concealer, highlighter and contour shade. I did a first impressions blog post when I first brought these which you can see here, but honestly my opinion hasn’t changed since. I really wanted to like these, especially because it seemed like every other youtuber/blogger were raving about these. I just didn’t like the consistency and the way they blended. The one thing I did like about these were the brush on applicators, which I think really helps to prevent product loss.

The third and final concealer I purchased after giving into the hype was the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger. I didn’t think this was the worst concealer in the world but it did not live up to my expectations. I feel as though that it’s one of those products that has been over hyped but it really is just a standard product. It does do the job, I think I could’ve done with a lighter colour, but I don’t think it does anything special.

My next product is the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation which I purchased in the shade warm natural (4.5). I really wanted to love this foundation, especially because I think the shade range is amazing, but it just didn’t work for me. I really don’t think this is a long lasting foundation which by the name I expected it to be. After just a few hours it broke on parts of my skin and it quickly faded from my skin. It also transferred so much which is a big no no for me!

My final product is a skin care product; the Purifying Charcoal Mask by Quick Fix Facials. The main reason I brought this mask was because of the claims it makes;

“Active Charcoal – rich in minerals, it helps clear deep-dwelling pores and free skin of toxins and impurities. Dragon Fruit – bursting with Vitamin C, it helps moisturise and promote healthy, radiant looking skin. Cinnamon extract – with reputed antiseptic and astringent properties to help clarify skin.”

It didn’t to my skin any harm, which is the main thing, but it didn’t do anything good either. Usually, if I use a mask and I don’t feel like it has helped my acne or my scarring, it still leaves my skin looking radiant and feeling fresh. I really didn’t feel like this with this product which is a shame because it does sound like an amazing product.

I hope you enjoyed this post which is a bit different to my usual. I do think it is equally important to share with you the products that I didn’t quite enjoy as well as sharing the ones that I absolutely love (even if I do sound like I’m whining haha).
