This is the 2nd post in my collection series! If you missed the 1st one on bronzers, you can see it here!
This is the first highlighter product I brought; it comes in two colours pink and peach, and I opted for the peach one . It’s such a nice smooth product, and really does the trick to add some radiance to the skin. I honestly enjoyed everything about this product apart from the packaging. It has a built in brush applicator which is a bit difficult to work with. I’ve read reviews in which people have suggested cutting off the brush, or removing it with tweezers. I don’t like the idea of that.
I’ve spoken about this product several times, as it includes a bronzer, contour shade and a highlight. It’s such a handy little product, the packaging is compact, which makes it a perfect all in one to have in your handbag. The highlighter in this is quite soft, but it is build able. On the whole, I would say this is a perfect starter kit, but I think for people who are quite familiar with make up products, there are better ones out there.
I decided to try this highlighter after hearing lots about it, and it definitely lived up to expectations. To start with, I thought the packaging was so compact and quirky. The highlighter itself is so pigmented, a little goes a long way. This is a champagne highlighter, so for girls like myself with medium- dark skin, I would make sure that you blend it in well because I do think it is something for lighter skin tones. However, you can work with it, it just takes time to get used to applying it correctly.
This is my favourite of all the highlighters. It’s a cream based highlighter with a bronze undertone (they do have other shades). If anyone would like a dewy finish, this is such a good product to go for; it captures the light so well. The best way to apply this product is with your fingers. I did try to use a brush but it didn’t work as well, and the product gets stuck in the bristles. I would only use this as a cheek highlighter, and would stick to a powder highlighter for other areas such as the brow bone.
This is the first Topshop make up product I had ever tried, and I came across it simply by playing around with the item in store. Can I just say I’m super impressed by the quality of Topshop make up, I didn’t have any expectations to begin with but I’m looking forward to trying their other products. The highlighter itself is a powder highlighter with a bronze undertone. It looks like it creates a sort of foil effect, the highlighter is so clean and pigmented.
I caved in to the banana powder as soon as I saw that Kim K used it, realistically who didn’t? I’ve included this in my highlighters collection but really I think it is more of a setting powder rather than an actual highlighter. The yellow, banana tone is what creates the highlighting effect. I love using this to brighten up my under eye area. I do think it helps prevent my concealer from creasing.
This is quite difficult to get hold of in the UK, and ordering it internationally can work out expensive; prices to vary fro retailer to retailer. I purchased mine from Precious About Make-Up based in London for £11.95. I know sometimes it can be difficult to order products from an unfamiliar company, but I would recommend them in particular because their service is really good and I received my product within days.
