Last night I was kindly invited to the Tom Ford store in Covent Garden. The store opened in November and it is the first standalone beauty store globally.
It has gorgeous black and white marble interior, with bright white lights shining everywhere; let me tell you it was beautiful.
The store has two floors; the shop floor to make purchases, and a second floor for personal make up appointments and masterclasses.
Tom Ford are starting to introduce new technology in to their stores. The mirrors are able to record the appointments and can be emailed, so you can recreate the look.
We had a chance to watch a live demonstration of a day to night look with a talk through of all the products used.
The first product used was the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate palette which is a cream highlight and contour palette. This was lightly applied with a flat contour brush and blended out using a round top foundation brush.
The Tom Ford Soleil Eye & Cheek Palette was used on the eyes and cheeks. This palette is a break away from their traditional quad palettes as it includes a blush and a highlighter. The palette gives the ability to create versatile looks using just one product. The lighter colours in the palette were used for the day and the shimmer shade and darker berry shade were applied over the top to transition to a more glam look.
To complete the look, a nude peach lipstick was used for the daytime look and Scarlett Rouge for the night. Scarlett Rouge is a “true red” with slightly orange undertones, so an alternative option is “impassioned” which is more vampy, both of which Tom Ford’s bestsellers.
Another feature of the store is the fragrance hall which displayed every perfume from Tom Ford. There is a video playing of Tom Ford talking about the perfumes, which added a nice touch.
I had such a lovely time at the store, it is definitely worth the visit!
