LFW Festival | SS17 Trends from the Catwalk

Last Friday, I headed to London Fashion Week Festival at The Store Studios (180 Strand). The London Fashion Week Festival is a big event giving everyone with an interest in fashion a chance to shop designer collections, listen to talks from industry experts, and attend catwalk shows. This years trend show was curated by Avenue 32, who identified some key SS17 trends which made me feel even more excited for the warmer weather. My style has always been very simple and minimal, but this year I feel really inspired to revamp my wardrobe for spring/summer and try something new.

For someone who doesn’t really wear much colour or patterns, this had to be my favourite outfit from this show. I’ve never really been one for florals, and I doubt I ever will be but I just loved the colour palette and fit of this outfit. This is paired with some simple black block heels and a matching floral bag. I know florals for spring and summer isn’t very revolutionary but this gave me some inspiration of ways floral prints can be worn.

This is the trend I’m most excited for. Ruffles have always been a bit out there for me, but this year, I’m looking forward to incorporating some ruffle shirts and dresses into my wardrobe. I’ve always seen ruffles as a more girly trend, but I’ve recently seen some statement pieces that I can’t wait to include in my wardrobe. A ruffle shirt with simple trousers or skirts will take an outfit to a whole other level.

Off the Shoulder

For me, this is a trend that I’ve been experimenting with for quite a while now. I’m looking forward to seeing new pieces in this style as I think they are very flattering, and are a great way to show a little skin without baring it all. I’ve been pairing my off the shoulder tops with jeans, trousers and skirts but i’m looking forward to incorporating some off the shoulder dress into my wardrobe.

What’s your favourite trend for SS17?

Love the off the shoulder trend! I never really pay much attention to trends though and just stick to my jeans, jumper, and trainers
