Whilst I was in Covent Garden last week, I went into the MAC store and let’s just say I did a little more damage than intended. I never thought MAC would be my go to brand for my face base but lately it’s the only thing I’ve been using.
I’ve had and off relationship with this foundation but now that I’ve figured out how it works best for my skin, and the best shade for me, this is a solid favourite.
This foundation has a matte finish, and has medium to full buildable coverage. In the summer I was wearing NC40 but now when I’m not tanned, NC37 is a much better shade for me. This foundation oxidises slightly so if you’re on the fence between shades, maybe go for the shade lighter. Worst case scenario you can use a skin colour powder over the top. I love this foundation because I get a good 6-8 hours wear of it without it completely sliding off my face.
I have this in the shade NC25 and it is a really good yellow-based concealer for highlighter. I’ve used another shade for spot concealing before but I really prefer this concealer for highlighting. It doesn’t crease throughout the day.
I really didn’t have high hopes for this primer. The lady who helped me out in the store recommended this to me and after trying out the MAC fix plus and it breaking me out, I was a bit sceptical. I’m so glad I spent my money on this because it is one of my favourite primers I’ve used. It comes in 2 “shades” for different skin tones: Radiant Yellow, and Radiant Pink depending on your undertones. This primer makes your skin glow and gives you such natural radiance. As the Studio Fix Fluid is on the thicker side, I’ve really noticed it make the foundation look less cakey and it really softens this skin. For me personally, it doesn’t do much for filling in my pores but I’m honestly super impressed with the finish I get after I use this.
I brought this palette a while ago but I thought I’d include it in this post. I have this in the shade medium. As I’ve mentioned before, I have really deep scarring so sometimes foundation isn’t enough to cover it, so I use this to spot conceal. I also use this to colour correct and conceal my under eye area before going over it with my mac pro longwear concealer to highlight. It has a slightly thick texture so for those with oily skin, you may want to set this with powder. Honestly this is such a good investment because you can really use all the colours. I hate buying palettes that I only use a couple of things from it, it seems like such a waste. I use this every day (you can probably tell I’ve absolutely ruined my palette).
