Finding a foundation and concealer that I love is something that I struggle with but today i’m going to share with you two products I have been using continuously, and they’re both from drugstore brands.
Maybelline – Dream Cushion Foundation
I picked this up in the shade 45, and it is literally the only drugstore foundation i’ve used that is a perfect match to my skin tone (MAC NC37). The dream cushion foundation is a compact foundation containing a mirror and sponge so it is perfect for on the go. I admittedly didn’t have high hopes for this foundation as I prefer liquid high coverage foundations but I was so wrong.
I like to apply mine with a damp beauty blender and then use a buffing brush to build up the coverage on my acne scarring. It also takes minimal time and effort to put which is honestly life saving for me in the mornings before work. The foundation is a good medium coverage, natural looking foundation that lasts all day. I have oily/combo skin but this also works perfectly on areas where I have dry patches so I think it is quite versatile for different skin types.
It’s very rare that I find a foundation that I would repurchase, but this definitely ticks all the boxes for me.
Collection – Lasting Perfection Concealer
This concealer is a “blogger made me buy it” product and I’m so glad I did. This is such a high coverage, creamy concealer. It has such a smooth texture to it and it makes the skin look flawless. I accidentally picked up the wrong shade in this so I mostly use it for highlighting, but I can’t wait to get a shade that is more suitable for “concealing” as opposed to highlighting.
This product is slightly on the thicker side so a little goes a long way – I apply it with the applicator and blend it in with my beauty blender. Surprisingly I don’t feel as though I need to set this under my eyes (although I do tend to for long days). This is my first Collection product and I can’t wait to try some more products from them.
At the moment, these products are *dare I say it* my holy grail products for a flawless base. What are yours?
