My Top 3 High End Lipsticks

I realised recently that the majority of my lipsticks in my collection are from MAC. However, there are a few higher end lipsticks that I absolutely love and these are the ones that I reach for the most on special occasions.

YSL – Rouge Volupté  in ‘Caress Pink #9’

This range of YSL lipsticks are so creamy and pigmented. I love the formula of them so much because they’re super hydrating and last all day. This particular colour is perfect if you want a bold pink lip but want a lighter shade as opposed to a more fuscia type pink. It’s perfect for people with my skin tone as sometimes I struggle with getting lighter pink shades without it looking too Barbie-like because that look definitely does not suit me.

Charlotte Tilbury – K.I.S.S.I.N.G in ‘velvet underground’

This is one of my top lipsticks purely for the colour. It’s so so beautiful. I actually picked this up by accident because I got the shade name confused with another one that I actually wanted, but I’m glad I did. I wouldn’t say that there is anything specifically unique about the formula of these lipsticks. For me it gives a semi matte finish which I love and its great for any night time occasion.

Guerlain – Rouge Automatique in ‘ Shalimar #166’

I think this lipstick wins for most impressive packaging, honestly. The lipstick slides in and out so you don’t have to bother with a lid. I don’t know about you but there are some days where I put the lid down and completely forget where I put down among my make up. If you want a bold lip I wouldn’t suggest Guerlain lipsticks because I always think they’re too sheer. However, if you’re going for a more toned down look and you would like a pop of colour, I would recommend using a clear lip gloss over the top for a more glossy effect.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? Let me know what you think.
