It seems that in a lot of the videos I watch on Youtube nowadays, most people seem to be applying their foundation with a Beauty Blender .
I’ve heard so many good things about them in general so I thought I would give it a go. I opted for the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (5.99) instead of the original Beauty Blender (£16) because it’s a cheaper alternative. I’ve also heard people say that they actual like the Real Techniques sponges better.
I brought the double pack on Amazon for £12.95 because I wanted one for my concealer and foundation and the other for darker contouring shades.
The shape of the sponge means that you can use the large surface for big areas, but it’s also got a pointed edge to get in to the smaller areas. When I use this I dampen it first with a primer water or even just plain water as recommended. I find for me, it helps give a slightly dewier finish as sometimes my foundation can leave me looking a bit too matte and a bit flat.
I honestly think that it lived up to the hype. I noticed straight away that my make up looked so much better. I found that my face was less cakey and it looked more natural; I usually struggle with this because I do need a lot of coverage. I manage to use less product but was still able to get the coverage I needed to cover my scarring.
I recommend this to anyone that wants a smooth, natural looking base.
